The diversity, specialization, and division of labor within the food industry have created a highly complex food chain today. Both domestically and internationally, it is necessary to consider the source, quality, and safety risks of different raw materials or products. Therefore, the source of raw materials or products and access to their information are very important. In view of this, we have implemented a food traceability and tracking system. By integrating the food registration platform with public and private cloud traceability systems, we provide the public with swift and accurate product information. In 2024, there were no recalls or product withdrawals due to food safety issues in any region.
Taiwan Region
Manufacturing Business
All food manufacturing businesses in Taiwan are required by law to register the information designated by the government on the Food Business Registration Platform—registration is mandatory. This includes basic business information, business scope, and factory details, among other items. Information such as raw material purchase order numbers, raw material arrival dates, production order numbers, product expiration dates, and shipping order numbers —serve as traceability codes for products. Procurement, manufacturing, and sales data are entered into the ERP system, enabling all products to be traced back to raw materials and tracked forward to their sales destinations.A simulated product recall is conducted annually to verify the effectiveness of the product traceability system. The ERP traceability data is integrated into the Nan Chiao Group’s public cloud platform for easy access and querying.By the 10th of each month, the previous month’s product traceability data is uploaded to the government’s Food Cloud (Food Traceability Management Information System – Non-Traceable 3.0), and electronic invoices are used to comply with the government’s requirements for the electronic management of food traceability.
The Royal Coca-Cola Division has implemented an Oracle digital system to monitor its food traceability management system, ensuring comprehensive oversight from the source management of raw materials and food additives to the tracking of product distribution;In conjunction with the private cloud system of the Du Laoye Ice Cream Division, this enables consumers to easily access 100% product information, providing the public with quick and accurate product data.
Laundry business
In accordance with government regulations, Nan Chiao Detergent & Industrial Oils has completed the entry of all import flow data for industrial oils into the Imported General Industrial Oils Factory Reporting System.The Taoyuan plant has completed the upload of traceability data for products manufactured from the imported industrial oil 100% to the Imported General Industrial Oils and Fats Factory Reporting System.
Restaurant business
In accordance with the "Ingredient and Supplier Management Procedures" and to address food safety risks, suppliers are required to complete an "Ingredient Survey Form" and provide relevant inspection or packaging certificates to verify the origin of all ingredients used.For the 2024 fiscal year, the source of 68.89% in food service procurement expenditures can be traced.

Manufacturing Business
Products manufactured at the Tianjin, Shanghai, and Guangzhou plants comply with the Food Safety Law as well as the production control requirements of customers and the company itself. Through the following traceability management and control information, we ensure that the history, application, or location of target items can be quickly traced.Furthermore, each plant conducts at least one simulated traceability/recall drill annually to verify that full traceability is achievable from raw materials to finished products and vice versa, with the 100% system covering all production items.
Control and verify product traceability through tracing and recall procedures. First, proper identification and recording enable effective and rapid identification, isolation, and tracing of relevant products. With the advanced ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, the company strictly controls and records information on raw material entry and exit, warehousing, and transportation in accordance with production formulas, processes, and quality requirements during the production process, allowing for more accurate and rapid information inquiry and traceability management.
The ESC (Electronic Supervision Code) two-dimensional barcode encoding system and the WMS (Warehouse Management System) have been operating successfully. A two-dimensional barcode is printed on each box of products, and a two-dimensional barcode for each pallet is automatically generated. The barcodes for pallets and cartons are bound together, allowing for inquiries about the product's warehouse location and shipping information through the two-dimensional barcode. In the future, users can scan the two-dimensional barcode with their mobile phones to obtain more product information.
Each factory's production line conducts simulated traceability and recall drills, primarily using a combination of ERP, WMS, and other systems along with paper records.
To strengthen food safety information traceability management, implement the primary responsibility of producers and operators, improve the effectiveness of food safety supervision, and protect public health and consumers' right to know.
Shanghai Factory implements information traceability management for eleven major categories of food and edible agricultural products produced (including cultivation, farming, and processing), circulated (including sales, storage, and transportation), and in catering services within the administrative area of Shanghai, in accordance with the "Shanghai Measures for the Management of Food Safety Information Traceability." The Shanghai Factory's meat product business has established an intelligent traceability system in recent years, based on the "Guiding Opinions of Shanghai Municipality on Promoting the Construction of Intelligent Traceability Systems in Food Production Processes" and the "Janshan District Three-Year Action Plan for Improving Meat Product Quality and Safety." This system achieves real-time uploading of information to the system for raw material procurement orders, acceptance and warehousing, production material requisition, processing, product inspection and release, finished product warehousing, and shipping. It has also successfully achieved real-time docking with the government traceability platform to transmit traceable information, enabling one-click traceability.
The Guangzhou factory, in accordance with the Guangzhou Municipal Government's requirements for the food industry, has registered its basic company information, raw and auxiliary material and supplier basic information, and product-related basic information on the "Guangzhou Food Production Full Process Dynamic Supervision Platform" to meet the government's basic traceability management requirements for food production enterprises.
Thailand
The products manufactured by Nanqiao in Thailand are fully traceable under the 100% system.whether from raw materials to finished products or from finished products back to raw materials. This is achieved by referencing information such as purchase order numbers, packaging label reference codes, or production dates on the packaging, ensuring that quality analysis data regarding raw materials and packaging can be reliably traced.By establishing new product coding principles to facilitate document management and data storage within the ERP system, and by developing an annual product traceability testing plan, 10 sets of product traceability tests were conducted in 2024, confirming that the traceability of the 100% product has been successfully completed.
Indeed, complete product information
To enable consumers to understand basic product information and enhance the disclosure of relevant information, the containers or outer packaging of products, food, and food ingredients produced in various regions are clearly and completely labeled in accordance with the requirements of local government regulations. In 2024, Nan Chiao Group had no illegal incidents related to food labeling and descriptions.
Taiwan Region
Before new products are launched, they are reviewed for legal compliance by relevant departments. For example, R&D departments professionally confirm compliance with national standards, the Food Safety Office professionally reviews ingredient content and labeling, and the Legal Department reviews relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance with the Food Safety and Sanitation Act and related laws.
To enhance the labeling requirements for the oil products and frozen dough business units, in accordance with Article 22 of the Food Safety and Sanitation Act, all products currently adopt a fully disclosed ingredient format. This allows customers to clearly understand information regarding product ingredients, nutritional content, allergens, and genetically modified organisms. Product packaging labels focus on clear and complete information, without the addition of promotional appeals or slogans.
The food and beverage industry will comply with regulations by clearly labeling all takeout items. Additionally, on some menus, ingredient origins are noted in order to provide consumers with a clear explanation, allowing them to eat our products with peace of mind.
Mainland China
All product labels from business units in the mainland region strictly adhere to the labeling methods for "pre-packaged foods directly/indirectly provided to consumers" as stipulated in national standards such as "GB 7718 National Food Safety Standard - General Rules for Labeling of Pre-packaged Foods," "GB 28050 National Food Safety Standard - General Rules for Nutrition Labeling of Pre-packaged Foods," and "GB13432 National Food Safety Standard - Labeling of Pre-packaged Foods for Special Dietary Uses." The labeling content includes information such as food name, specifications, net content, production date, shelf life and storage conditions, executive standard, place of origin, manufacturer's address, contact information, nutrition labels, and allergens. Any content not indicated on the label will be specified in the instruction manual or contract. All labels must be jointly reviewed and approved by the Marketing Department, Legal Department, Quality Department, and R&D Department.
